CLIENT BRIEF
The property had been decorated to a point but with the arrival of a new baby the client had run out of inspiration and energy to add all the finishing flourishes. The tasks seemed too big to tackle.
- Create a nursery scheme that will grow with the child and not become outdated.
- A sense of fun and whimsy in the nursery
- A serene bedroom scheme with special touches
- Source furniture and accessories to complement the scheme and suit the period of the house.
DESIGN PROCESS
In the parent’s bedroom we chose furniture in shapes that are in keeping with the heritage of the home and used patterns that were contemporary versions of a period feel. The love bird motif (perfect for the bedroom) was a direct match to the paint chosen by the client, so fit seamlessly.
We created symmetry in an awkward shape room either side of the chimney breast with the use of matching mirrors and sets of drawers to create an ordered look.
We chose luxury gold accents and accessories ensuring this space was an adult retreat exclusively, the sanctuary they desired.
The nursery ceiling height is generous but the room itself is narrow, we created a design that drew the eye up into the space and made the most of the liberal ceiling proportions. We chose floor to ceiling curtains to accentuate the stunning windows.
The chosen palette was youthful but still in keeping with the age of the property. Using a raindrop motif and pear shape artwork to add a sense of playfulness.
