A semi-retired couple based in a duplex apartment in Bushey, Hertfordshire.
CLIENT BRIEF
- Transform a completely white living space
- To create a Mediterranean feel through wall coverings and colour.
- Incorporate the existing blue and red sofas
- Tie the living area together with the diner and kitchen
- Source cushions, rug and accessories
DESIGN PROCESS
This was a delightful project to work on. The clients had been looking for a wallpaper for over a year and couldn’t decide how to decorate.
This property is a lovely apartment and had the vibe of a holiday home despite being located in Bushey.
Finding a wallpaper with both red and blue was a challenge but when we discovered this coral and shell pattern we knew we had hit the jackpot
We used the main blue around the large open plan space and instead of traditional panelling opted for a bamboo trim, panelling but with personality.
Using the blue around the whole space tied together the different zones wrapping it in interest.
After all the main elements were in place, we added a mix of new pieces and treasured items, choosing each one to be seen and appreciated while letting the red add a bright lift.
The room is made to feel warm and personal, reflecting the clients’ story
