DESIGN PROCESS
The property is a traditional family home tucked in a corner of St Albans. The family had instructed a builder to extend the back of the property and reconfigure the snug, kitchen and utility and create extra space and an additional family room.
We were brought in to space plan each area and curated the spaces alongside the information from the client. We gained in depth knowledge on the work, education and leisure activities of the family and designed the rooms with this in mind.
We visited fabric shops with the client to immerse them in the process and get them excited about the patterns and colours we could use. We were delighted and impressed by the patterns the client loved and we felt we could fly with the design process from that point. We had bespoke curtains made so had complete control over the look and the design.
We chose a warm peach terracotta and cream tone to combine with a cool navy and grey across the ground floor, each one balancing the other and creating an interesting and vibrant scheme. The snug was a separate room so we created a different feel in here with a beautiful green wallpaper and bespoke cabinetry. We used botanical shapes as a loose thread without it becoming a theme.
We helped the client feel confident in their own choices and worked closely with them to create schemes they absolutely loved but wouldn’t have been brave enough to try alone.
The result is a stunning space where every family member gets what they need, a forever home with space to grow.
